Hey Josh-

Thanks for filing. This one is long overdue.

Holly and I want to make some minor design updates to remove the broken blog feeds and fix the UX on the desktop/mobile toggle.

:groovecoder and I were discussing this the other day and he mentioned we could just redirect /firefox/aurora to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#aurora which I think is an interesting option.
Gareth & Chris, can you think of a better/new way to separate out *Aurora* downloads from other Firefox Desktop downloads? I'd like to track those as another goal and especially measure MDN's effectiveness in sending dev's to download Aurora.

Ideally, we'd fire an event in GA on click of the download button, and capture the channel within the event. We have an open bug for this. Can we please re-visit this?

We should get on this post-Australis, we also need to point all download buttons to the second scene of the download page (bug 874913) and then add the GA event that should also capture the channel.

I read up on bug 874913, but I don't see any Aurora options on the second scene of the download page. On MDN we link straight to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#aurora or to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/aurora/. Will these pages also be deleted in favor of the download page?

Good question. Currently, the download page is release-channel only. /firefox/channel/ is a page on the new bedrock platform. /firefox/aurora/ is on the old php system that is being deprecated. I would point to /firefox/channel/#aurora (without the locale) since I cannot say if and when the main Firefox download page will handle all channels without making for a more complex and heavy UI. Also, pointing to /firefox/channel/ is better because it is on the python side and we are trying to kill off the old php pages.

As per Bug 1005237, /firefox/aurora/ will be removed soon. Closing.
