I thought it was a SMS problem, but then disabled HUD and the problem seemed to go away in my testing.
The Developer HUD layer has a `pointer-events: none` CSS rule that should prevent this kind of problems. I was not able to reproduce, successfully writing and sending a SMS with the HUD on. Could you please be a little more specific as to how the problem reproduces? Thanks for testing!

I'm trying to tease this issue out from bug 987446, and think I may have figured it out!

In my testing, the HUD interferes only when they keyboard is *open*.

STR: With the HUD enabled with some values...

1. open SMS
2. add a recipient and compose a message
3. touch the [send] button (which is hidden behind HUD)

Expected: the message is sent

Actual: the keyboard closes, message is not sent
