CURRENT ------- -user hits 'Manage' in prefs pane, goes to FXA/settings on CLIENT A -changes password on CLIENT A -later they're forced to reauth to sync with new password on CLIENT A EXPECTED -------- -user hits 'Manage' in prefs pane, goes to FXA/settings on CLIENT A -changes password on CLIENT A -we automatically sign them back in to Sync on CLIENT A
Doing this consistently will likely depend on bug 998051.

An issue with the current system is that the browser's authenticated account might not be authenticated on the web. We'll ask the user to sign in again (with the browser's account email address pre-filled) if that's the case. If we want a more seamless experience we'll need something like in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1178924#c10.
