I have reopened this bug since it still exists in the 0.9.2 branch. As noted in the original description, this bug was opened against 0.9.2.

Target Milestone: --- → mozilla0.9.2
it's totally useless to set the target milestone to a released milestone -- not to mention a violation of protocol (tm is for assignee, not reporter). If you can crash could you include a talkback incident ID like other users so we can try to find the cause?

I don't fix bugs. Browser General Component is a catch all for bugs that don't belong to other Components or were reported by people who don't know how to pick the proper Components for their bugs http://www.mozilla.org/quality/help/pick-a-component-for-crashers.html I test builds on the tip or very recent branches (and 99 out of 100 testers or more do the same). I don't have the bandwidth to test on ancient branches. Unless this bug is reassigned to someone else it is going to be resolved as worksforme. It's a safe bet that any bug in the system that is two Milestones old and working on the current nightly builds and latest Milestone release is going to be marked worksforme by others as well.
Works for me on my 0.9.2 branch build. It does assert a few times because it can't set the window title but otherwise it's fine.
I pulled afresh and rebuilt and it still works for me. When I run mfcEmbed.exe from an embedding dist the site reports "GX Error (GX2GX) socket result code missing!!!" for some reason (user agent string?) but there is no crash. Possibly it's a optimized build problem, or W98 specific (I have W2K). I will try an optimized build next (tomorrow for me) to see if I can reproduce there.
And it WORKSFORME in an optimized build and in NS6.1. Dave can you say what 0.9.2 build you're using? I can't reproduce this at all on W2K.
I was seeing this crash on a variety of Windows 98 0.9.2 branch builds, including the N6.1 RTM build and an embedded build from 8/30/2001. I am unable to reproduce the crash on any of my builds now. Perhaps the content has changed. I submitted a couple of talkback reports - I will find the IDs and add them to this bug.
Talkback IDs: 35209147 35191723 35089895 The following ones may also be related (different URL but similar stack signature): 35089715 35080921 35047088 35040625
adding WRMB to Summary field. this is a high priority bug, please update bug with the status of this issue. Get this into the current milestone.
