After pressing the Send button, the whole application freezes for 5-10 seconds,
then the progress bar comes up, and the message is sent, which is quite annoying.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create new message, or forward/reply to an old
2. press send


Actual Results:  program freezes for 5-10 seconds

Expected Results:  progress bar should appear immediately, and other windows
should be responsive

Dual Celeron @533 MHz running Linux 2.4.8, so that shouldn't be a problem.

does the message have any attachments to it.  What is the size of the message 
that you are sending?

Size or attachments doesn't seem to matter, the freeze always occurs, no matter
how large the message is. After some time (5-10 seconds), the actual sending of
them message begins, and this of course takes some time, but at this point,
other windows are reacting.

We have a recent bug on reply being very slow reported on recent builds. Since 
the reporter in this bug is using really an old one. Marking this bug 
worksforme.
