Prerequisites:
an FB Account with > 1000 friends

STR:
In Contacts => Settings hit sync friends and log into facebook

Expected:
Importing actually happens at some point.

Actual:
1. "Please hold on.  We are connecting to obtain your friends list."
2. Error message: "Exceeded timeout retrieving friends.  Do you want to retry?"

Retrying makes no difference, so the only option is to cancel.  This may be already known or expected, but it's important to catch.

How many contacts do you get filled before running into this issue?

None.  I get the "exceeded timeout retrieving friends" error during the import.  No friends imported.

I'm currently trying to make a video of the behavior but the scenario is playing out pretty inconsistently on the device.  Reboot, rinse, lather, repeat.

Did you try with a smaller set?  ie like 10?

I have tried with a set of three, and the import worked ok.   Unfortunately I don't have access to very many test accounts.

I think we need a test account with a more common number of people.
Could we get a test of ~100 or ~250?

I could not reproduce this issue with 100,200 or 300 Facebook friends on the Tarako v1.3T

The error "Exceeded timeout retrieving friends.  Do you want to retry?" was not encountered and the user's friends list was retrieved without issue.

I recently rechecked this and ended up filing 1004872 - [Tarako] [Contacts] Facebook import contact is sigkilled at approximately ~75 contacts.  So the thing works, but in fits and starts. And only imports contacts in chunks.  That is on the pac from 4/30.

It sounds like the bug morphed; I can't reproduce the bug with 500 contacts.  Should we close this one in favor of the other bug that you opened John?
