Yeah, OK - I could see that one running for a good long time with the interpreter.  The problem is that it is a JIT test (it's in jit-test/tests/ion/inlining) so it scarcely makes sense to run it without a compiler.
Anyway I talked to :jandem about this and he's convinced me that reducing the number of iterations by a factor of 10 should be unproblematic.  I'll post a patch.
