Description

STR:

1. Create a contact with symbols in the Contact app, for example, Vance 0921-418-756
2. Export that contact to SIM
3. Delete that contact from phone memory
4. Import the contact back from SIM
5. The number becomes 0921418756

I replied in bug 987499, when we export to SIM, AFAIK, gecko saves the number without any symbol.

See Bug 961271, in short, per 3GPP spec, TS 151.011, Table 12, only '0'~'9', '*', '#', ',' and a WILD value (should be 'N') are allowed to be stored in SIM.

other symbols such as '(', ')', '-' will be ignored.
