990312 - You can run out of email quota without anyone telling you about it

I was just pinged on irc when someone told me that my email address is bouncing mail with messages such as:

<[e-mail]>: host zmmbox3.mail.corp.phx1.mozilla.com[10.20.77.25] said: 452 4.2.2 Over quota (in reply to end of DATA command)

Now, I have no idea how much quota I have, how I can check for that, and am now deleting a giant folder of emails (my bugmail folder, which is close to 2 gigs according to Zimbra's folder popup) in a rush to get this fixed

But it's really not cool to not give people some kind of an advanced notice before they stop receiving mail when they're about to run out of quota.  Why did I not receive an email at least? :(

Note that I forward my mail to gmail so I do get to delete a giant folder in a rush, I can imagine not everyone will have that luxury.  Deleting unwanted mail manually takes a looong time, so if I did not forward my mail to gmail then I would be pretty much screwed at this point because I wouldn't have had any obvious folder to delete.

You get 5GB by default and it's supposed to mail you daily once you hit 90%. Did you get over 500MB of mail in the same day?

What do those emails look like?  I don't think I've received any unless it has went into my spam folder or something.

Sending email to people who've got way to much email isn't the right thing. Do we have any out-of-band ways to notify people about email problems? Firebot, SMS?
