Steps to reproduce:

opened Thunderbird not in full-screen


Actual results:

Saw black bar along top of UI, screenshot attached


Expected results:

should have seen minimize, restore, and close buttons at screen upper right

I'm having the same problem since my Thunderbird updated yesterday.  I'll post a screen capture momentarily. Not only are the min/max/restore/close buttons missing but even clicking where they should be does nothing.  This is a pretty serious functionality breakage and on AMO we weren't approving Firefox themes that were having the same issue a while back.

This does seems to be an issue with the default theme and it is probably related to the mentioned problem custom themes were having on Firefox quite a while back. This issue first cropped up on custom Firefox themes back in 2011. I've never seen this issue in the default Firefox or Thunderbird theme until this morning when I noticed it in Thunderbird.

This problem seems to have gone away somewhere in the past several months.  I can't say exactly when because I had switched to a custom complete theme. Out of curiosity, I went back to the default theme in the past couple of months and it was working correctly again.

I'll close this bug as worksforme.
