Details
STR:
1. take a picture with a Firefox OS device like a hamachi
2. attach image to an email
3. open said email in Thunderbird
Observed: the image appears rotated 90-degrees
Expected: Thunderbird's viewer will respect the rotation information embedded in the JPEG's EXIF header and display the image with the correct orientation.

EXIF support was added for firefox26. Which thunderbird version are you using? It should work for anything 26 up. (Tb 31 is the next stable release.)

Sorry... I'm running 24.4.0. Looks like I've been bitten by Ubuntu again.
