Steps to reproduce:

I tried to do search in my default search engine (www.google.com). I wrote in the search tab and pressed enter it is not working.

OS is Ubuntu 12.04
Firefox version is 28.0


Actual results:

Nothing happended. No changes in the pages.


Expected results:

Actually it should have searched in Google.

Thanks for taking the time to report this!
Does the problem still happen if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? (Safe Mode disables extensions and themes, hardware acceleration and some JavaScript stuff in order to exclude some possible reasons for problems. It does not disable plugins which are add-ons.) There's no requirement that bugs be confirmed before being moved into a better component than Untriaged - this is likely to be a Firefox::Search bug given information provided so far.

I tried opening in Safe mode. Even then when I enter the search query in address bar and hit enter it is not working for me,

Resetting also didn't work for me.

Unfortunately, there's not enough information here to understand what the problem was. The searchbar UI has been significantly changed since Firefox 28, so the problem is unlikely to still exist.
