The following changes should be made to the Firefox beta download pages: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/ should have the following note added: "Firefox Beta automatically sends feedback to Mozilla. Learn more." This is the sentence that already exists at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/aurora/. Secondly, there is currently a box """2. Refine & Polish Give us feedback to help us put the final tweaks on performance and functionality in a stable environment.""" It might be nice to combine this with the sentence above to combine the automatic telemetry collection and the manual feedback link. I don't have an exact suggested wording.

Thanks for filing, Ben. What is the timeline on getting this live? Matej - do you have time to take a look at the text?

I'd like this to be live when Firefox 30 hits beta, which will be sometime soon after 29-April.

That should be be a problem at all. We have a bunch of bugs scheduled to go live with the April 29 Fx release, so we'll make sure this one is included in that push.

Oh, Bugzilla... I meant to write: That should NOT be a problem at all. These changes will go live April 29

If it doesn't bother anyone, I would actually prefer to keep the statements separate, like they are on the Aurora page. They feel like unique thoughts to me (and it would make that blurb really long). That OK?

At https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.privacy/LblsW65aTYU Gerv had a concern that the wording made it appear that feedback was only voluntary. I don't actually have a strong opinion, as long as we make it clear that one of the purposes of the beta builds is to have automatic telemetry collection.

(In reply to Benjamin Smedberg [:bsmedberg] from comment #6) > At https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.privacy/LblsW65aTYU > Gerv had a concern that the wording made it appear that feedback was only > voluntary. I don't actually have a strong opinion, as long as we make it > clear that one of the purposes of the beta builds is to have automatic > telemetry collection. I think keeping the two statements separate, like they are on Aurora, would still solve that.

Agreed, Matej. Thanks for looking. We will keep them separate, as on the Aurora page.

The Beta page has now been redirected to: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/#beta The Aurora page is now also redirected to: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/#aurora For the beta page, we can add the sentence "Firefox Beta automatically sends feedback to Mozilla. Learn more." #aurora already has an equivalent sentence for this. Neither of the two bedrock pages have the second piece of text however, which will need adding: Aurora: "Test performance in an experimental environment, file bugs and help us determine what makes it to Beta. Learn more" Beta: "Give us feedback to help us put the final tweaks on performance and functionality in a stable environment. Learn more" We can see to adding these string to the new pages. Do these look/sound ok? One thing that comes to mind is it's not ideal to repeat "Learn more" for each link text, as links should make sense out of context for screen readers.

Yes, Alex, let's move forward with this while we work on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1005237 which won't be live until late June at the soonest. I like your suggestion, Alex.
