RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 993407

People

(Reporter: zao, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140411004002

Steps to reproduce:

Longpressed on an image link on a website, was looking to Open in Private Tab as it's a very common move in my workflow.

Actual results:

Open in Private Tab is hidden behind a second choice of Image|Link in the context menu, doubling the number of touches and precise pointing needed to open up tabs.

Expected results:

Sure, the old context menu was long and bloated, but it had all the menu choices directly reachable. New context menu doesn't remember which mode (Image|Link) it's on, not even during the same page or session.

This is a heavy regression in usability for my workflow.

I agree it would be awesome to remember the option if chosen several times.
Let's see some more inputs.

Bug 993407 makes the "LINK" tab the default. This should be enough to fix your workflow. In fact, this bug is a dupe of bug 993407.
