I recently have a discussion with one of our main translator on Transifex and he suggest that we should issue some badge so that people can be more active and be more motivated to do some translation work for us here in Webmaker project.

There are over 800 people contributing to the project on Transifex, but active transltors currently might be 20% or less and I strongly believe if we can engage more with them we can get them to be more active and have more people to join afterward.

Now issuing a badge I'm not sure how tricky this can be, but maybe we should start some discussion and take this into our consideration.

* We're currently looking at Q3 or Q4 for this, I believe -- as other badges are in the queue first (Super Mentor, Mentor, and Web Literacy badges)

* A key question we've had around this is: *do localizers actually care about badges?* We already have ways to *count* their contribution. So it's been an active question for us: do those folks care about the recognition or motivational stuff a badge would provide? 

* So whatever insight or casual research you have there would be helpful

Thanks Matt, I will link this to people who've asked about badge and let them know about our current plan.

To answer the question about that. I remember from Mozfest 2013 when we did the translation there though not many people did sat down and do translation for the whole sesion, but many did here and there but again they were very excited about badge when we say we have for translators and some of them still really active till today.

For the discussion that I have mainly people who do care about Badge are people who know about Mozilla and the foundation site of Mozilla and most of them been collecting Badge and try to be part of Mozilla, so I'm sure badge for them is something not only cool, but is the thing that they are and will be proud of.

Thanks Ali for the filling this bug and also thanks Matt.

Matt we are working on the localization, and i won't take an example of a particular language for this issue but as i saw in my language i.e we have less number of localizers on transifex also not much more on SUMO, but we have a badge for SUMO Localizers. That badge providing after the completion of 10th approved articles. So i thought if we start the issuing a badge to the transifex lozalizers,then i think we will be able to get more lozalizers. How? like- I got a badge on transifex then i would like to share with friends by social media and all those, so through this i think some of them will come to the transifex for localization and also it will explore more awareness about the localization or webmaker localization.

Discussed with @OpenMatt. Given that we want to encourage teams to lead their badge creation while we oversee momentum on all Mozilla badges, I don't know that it makes sense for me to be the assignee, but I'm happy to help!

I think this is definitely useful if we want to focus more on our current localization as I think it will make our localization community grow stronger.

As Ali said we want to grow our l10n community, we are not only focusing on Hindi language. But it will also be helpful for other languages to get more localizers to the Webmaker localization. As well as it will make a good impact on users.

So, I think it's great to figure this one out, but I don't think we can really figure this out soon, so either add that to our debt list or just wontfix until we can really get to it. But, I will set to wontfix for now.
