not necessarily as a documented method, though i don't see a strong reason. the addon object is required for native options, and we use AddonManager.getAddonByID() in lots of tests.

forgot to mention, probably a good idea to return a neutered, read-only (deep-frozen?) version of the addon object, which covers all the use-cases we have..
