These, and the shorthand box-sizing are crucial to the widespread acceptance of new 
layout. They are the only statisfactory replacements for the ubiquitous <table 
width=100% ... etc.

WONTFIX. It is likely that these will be taken out of the spec and replaced by
'box-sizing', and it is also possible that 'box-sizing' itself will be removed.
We already implement 'box-sizing' to some extent. ('-moz-box-sizing')
