Whenever I send a usenet post, I get a message stating the system sent the
messge but is unable to copy it to the sent mail folder.

I get this too, when the Sent folder is any IMAP folder I care to choose, and it
happens when sending email as well as when posting usenet posts.
A workaround is to disable filing the post to the sent folder, and instead BCC
it to yourself, however, there's something wrong with the preferences pane in
that if you have several accounts, the ones at the bottom tend not to remember
the settings when you change them.

I don't know if this is related to these guys' problem, but I've been having
trouble saving to the "Sent" folder too, and have found that the preference
dialog for setting the folder isn't working right, at least for the case of a
Cyrus IMAP server - where the "Sent" folder is a subfolder of "INBOX".
After using the prefs dialog to set the folder I want (INBOX.Sent) prefs.js shows:
user_pref("mail.identity.id1.fcc_folder", "imap://bp@foo.edu/Sent");
but if I change it manually to:
user_pref("mail.identity.id1.fcc_folder", "imap://bp@foo.edu/INBOX/Sent");
then it works, so it seems like the prefs dialog doesn't get the IMAP namespace
right.

I think this was a temporary problem. It should be fixed now.

Henrik, sorry, it is still there in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US;
rv:0.9.7+) Gecko/20020111. What build do you believe it was fixed in? Since
you were not the bug reporter, you should not set it to "works for me" - what
about asking everyone else first? Please reopen the bug.
The workaround which Barry Pederson describes is still required in the build I
quote. I can confirm that this problem occurs with Courier IMAP, but only with
the Sent, Drafts and Templates folders. I can confirm that the Personal
Namespace setting for the server is correctly set as "INBOX." but it would
appear that this setting is being ignored for these 3 folders.
wfm with build 2002-01-18-03, Windows 2000.

Please could you re-open this. It's not fixed at all. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U;
Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.7+) Gecko/20020120. Please remember that it
doesn't work on Courier IMAP. Guys who think it's fixed - what's your IMAP
platform?
