Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.78 [NT] BuildID: 20011031 If you subscribe to newsgroups, then you'll see the actual newsgroup name in Mozilla. In Netscape 4.x you could see these names by 'description' or 'display name', which is more user friendly. For example, if you create a newsgroup in NEtscape Collabra server called: mozilla.news , and you give it a display name of 'Mozilla News posts'. And if you subscribe in Mozilla to that newsgroup you 'll see 'mozilla.news' in the list of subsribed groups. In Netscape 4.x you saw 'Mozilla News posts'..... thus that's more userfriendly. Is there any possibility to add this feature to Mozilla? (maybe you can let the user choose between 'description' and 'actual name'?) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open mozilla News 2.Subsribe to newsgroups Actual Results: YOu only see the actual newsgroup see description

This bug is almost the same as #37775, although that bug implies the newsgroup descriptions should only be fetched if the user requests this via an option. Marking this bug as a duplicate of #37775, which is already assigned. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 37775 ***
