In 0.9.5 Ctrl+click is used to open link in new window. In MSIE and Opera it is Shift+clik. Mozilla should IMHO use Shift+click too -- or leave it as an option in preferences to choose the modifier key (for the "Save link as" too).

I'm marking wontfix because we can't pref everything and I don't think this makes the list. We'll have customizable keybindings at some point so you can change this if you want.

I am not satisfied with the resolution.

a) When we can have pref Advanced/Mouse Wheel, why not this? It is similar.
b) MSIE has got Shift+Click for "Open in New Window", Opera the same. Often I
need to work with all those browsers and it would be fine to be able to setup
Mozilla in similar way.

I'll personnally be very happy (ok, i'm biased ;) to have this integrated to mozilla, because a) for me ctrl-click is unworkable (ctrl-click works as right-click) b) for other people, coming from IE or Opera, it could imho be a "decisive" feature to allow them keeping their habits. Using at least half of the patch 134818, the preference part, even dropping away the UI part due to lack of room in the pref window or anything, can't hurt imho ; this really is a little change :)

> a) When we can have pref Advanced/Mouse Wheel, why not this? You are quite correct, David, the Mouse Wheel prefs panel shouldn't exist either. That's bug 37139.
