I have 2 problems with the badge as-is (at least on Windows). 1. the background color is dark green, everything is Australis is grey-blue-black-orange... dark green is nowhere, looks like something from an add-on. 2. the STAR symbol is overloading bookmarks symbol (the star has always been related to favorite lists), so I originally thought it had something to do with bookmarks... may I suggest we avoid duplicating symbols and we go with an asterisk?
I'm seeing the hamburger button blurry on Win 7 since the update is it related ?

Mine is not blurry... do you use hi-dpi settings?
No I'm using normal DPI but the icon when the update star is not present looks something blurrier and smaller than before.

ah yes, the hamburger button looks blurry indeed. you should file that bug apart though cause this is just about re-evaluating the badge design, while yours sounds like an actual code bug.
Filed bug 1080406.

The star symbol has changed to an up arrow, but I don't know the bug number.

I'd call this WFM with the new design.
