Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows NT 5.0)
BuildID: 2001112014

While testing the front-end bookmark test "paste-into-folder", I found
that I COULD paste a folder into itself. "Expected Results" step 3 says that
you should not be able to, although it does say that Communicator 4.x allows
this)
If the default is now that this is allowed, this test should be updated to save
that.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. paste a bookmark folder into itself

Actual Results: Documentation says this is NOT allowed

Expected Results: doc should say that this IS allowed

I could reproduce this on the version of Linux I have, 2001112013,
but I'm testing the OpenVMS version of 0.9.6 and I can't upgrade
the openVMS version until one is available.
Found that after I continued testing, Mozilla was "hung" because I had copied
a folder into itself. I'm almost 100% sure I saw a bug like this entered
before, but for the life of me I can't find the bug number!! If someone finds
it, let me know!

Anyhow, it seems that making a folder a sub-folder of itself SHOULD NOT be
allowed, but I was able to do it. Changed some of the states of this bug to
reflect that it's not just a doc bug, but a "real" bug.
Severity: minor → normal
Component: Mozilla Developer → Bookmarks
Product: Documentation → Browser
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla0.9.6
Version: unspecified → other
According to bug 113554 this operation should NOT be allowed. This is therefore
a code bug, not a doc bug. Its also not OpenVMS specific. Changign fields
accordingly.
