It would be nice to block images in emails, for example the groups.yahoo.com
emails. Right now, the image blocking doesn't seem to effect emails at all.

Images in mails are commonly used by spammers to determine whether they've
reached an active mail account. Therefore it would be more than just "nice" -
this should be regarded a SECURITY issue, as well as just an aesthetic one.

The ability to load images in mails on demand, not by default, should be simple
to implement.

I'm adding my vote for this bug, but I suspect it is actually being blocked by
bug 37983.  Bug 37983 is also blocking bug 28327, which I would prefer to be
fixed because it's more general, as pointed out by Johan in comment #1.

If this is a duplicate, shouldn't you carry over the votes to the bug this is a
duplicat of? Or do votes really matter?

You should at least give the votes back to the voters.
