The icon next to "To:" should be able to click, thus opening the "address" window.

Reopening. In the new message/compose window, within the addressing widget you see a flashing cursor waiting for an address entry. To the left of the flashing cursor is an icon and if you click on the icon nothing happens. I think the reporter would like this icon to open the Address Book or atleast display email addresses from the address book. I like this idea, it makes sense. Marking nsbeta1 so this is considered for the next release.

Yes, the comment above is correct. I seem to have missed #2.
In 4.x selecting this icon would highlight the icon so that the next action would effect the entire line. For instance if the icon was selected and the delete button was pressed then the entire line would be deleted. This feature made it easy to delete addresses on multiple lines. The reporter is asking that the icon open the address book. Jen, I would like the ability to do both so I'm hoping there is way to incorporate both ideas.

>In 4.x selecting this icon would highlight the icon so that the next action >would effect the entire line. Bug 49216 was written for the above issue. Clicking the icon can only be used for one action, either selecting the contents of the line or opening the Select Addresses dialog. Since the "Address" toolbar button already opens the Select Addresses dialog, would it be value to have clicking the icon select the contents of the line?
Clicking on the person-icon on the addressing line will select the address.

Since the Address Book button is on the toolbar I think selecting the person-icon on the addressing line to select the line is useful when deleting an entry or deleting multiple entries.

Doesn't wfm with 2002081304/Modern/Win2K. Clicking on the icon does nothing but selecting the existing mail address right to it. Reopening. Btw, please take a look at bug 64061 "Recipient Icon in TO: field of Mail not activated".

Marking Invalid. A click on the icon can have only one functionality and that has been implemented as the selection.
