Build Date & Platform Bug Found:
 Mac commercial seamonkey build 1999-08-13-08-m9 installed on PPC 9600/300 MacOS
8.5.1 and G3/400 Mac OS 8.6

Overview Description:
 Mac Apprunner freezes when you click on the Send button to send a plain text
message.  It does not matter if you enter any text into the subject to message
body field.
 This problem does not occur when using rich text editor to send messages.

Steps to Reproduce:
0) In your prefs.js file set the user_pref to use the plain text editor.
     user_pref("mail.identity.identity1.compose_html", false);
1) Start Apprunner
2) Open Messenger
3) Click on the New Msg button
   Wait for the plain text compose window to appear
4) Address the message to yourself
5) Add a subject title
6) Type a short message in the body
7) Click on the Send Msg button
   Apprunner freezes

Actual Results:
  Apprunner runner freezes once I click on the Send Message button.  I have to
force quit or restart my Mac

Expected Results:
  The message window should go away and the messages should be sent.

Additional Builds and Platforms Tested On:
  In the win32 1999-08-13-m9 build, this problem does not occur.

Was this problem reported before or after blocking writes were fixed on the Mac?

You should have always froze on the Mac when sending a message until warren
checked in the fix which was Friday night. So it couldn't have been working
before then.

If that's the case, we should mark it a duplicate of gordon's bug. I'll dig up
the big bug #..

Scott,
This bug was reported after gordon fixed the bug.  I verified gordon's fix in
bug 10797 on Friday build.  I am re-testing in today mac build and will update
shortly.

Scott,
I confirmed this problem still occurs in today optimized Mac build
1999-08-16-08-m9.  I can successful send Rich text messages on IMAP, POP, and
News.  Apprunner freezes when I click on the send button on the plain text
compose window.

I could successfully send plain text from POP, News, and IMAP.  The problem now
works for me.  It exist in M9 builds.
