this is a recent regression.

this is on a 2002011003 build.
I'm not seeing this with my build pulled from yesterday. I'm building from the
trunk right now. My guess is that it's something that went in last night.
making this a blocker.

I am seeing this with 2002010921/linux (os all?). A work around is to just click 
into the message text pane, this makes the greyed out buttons reappear.
BTW not all buttons get greyed out here: get, compose and next stay active.
right, forcing focus to change causes us to update the commands.

asking people to do that after every delete makes this a blocker.

I see other weird behavior that may be a different bug but I'll add the info
here just in case.

When I hit the delete key (not the toolbar button) in mail (on this morning's
Win 2K build) it acts like the spacebar.  So instead of deleting the message, it
scrolls through the message and then moves to the next unread message.  
fix was to back out fix for bug 118137.

verifying.  this fixed it for me.  and it fixed putterman problem (as far as I 
can tell.)
