When choosing a bitmap font (like Ramat Gan) for the Hebrew mozilla font, the
Mozilla chrome looks stange- squers appear instead of english characters, and
quetion marks instead of Hebrew one

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. set the Hebrew font to be a bitmap font (like gilboa or Ramat Gan)
2. look at the chrome
3. also in mail and news

Actual Results:  text in the chrome is unreadble

Expected Results:  should look fine

Mac OS before 10 uses bitmap fonts for onscreen display (esp. if you don't use
ATM, which has issues with Hebrew so many Hebew users avoid it).
so those fonts are common settings for Israeli users

Please note that here and there, in western encoded pages, the chromes looks OK.
Also, I have set my deofult Mozilla encoding to Hebrew

we use ATSUI to display arabic / hebrew. and ATSUI will only use TrueType (not
even bitmap embedded in TrueType). That probably cause this problem. Need to
figure out this is a bug in ATSUI or in mozilla and how to prevent it from mozilla.

when we report the hebrew font in the font enumerator, can we check the font is
bitmap font or true type font ? we can filter out bitmap font there.

This bug is targeted at a Mac classic platform/OS, which is no longer supported
by mozilla.org. Please re-target it to another platform/OS if this bug applies
there as well or resolve this bug.

I will resolve this bug as WONTFIX in four weeks if no action has been taken.

The bug doesn't apply to Mac OS X.
