One strange thing I noticed is that files with .xhtml suffix do not show the
Mozilla icon nor the text, but files with .xht suffix do. They work identically,
though, if you double click on them. IE seems to be my default for .htm and
.html files, and both of those display the IE icon and text... I guess this is
some other bug we have(?)

Yes, Windows caches the file icons and they get stale on some flavors of windows
in some situations. There's a bug on that.
