124871 - Cannot use fixed space font for message display

I've just switched over to using Mozilla 0.9.8, this was working as
expected in 0.9.7

My message bodies are being displayed in variable width font dispite
fixed width font being specified in [Preferences / Mail & Newsgroups /
Message Display].  I tried setting it to variable then back to fixed
with no change.

If your problem is the same that the bug that you have pointed why didn't you
add a comment there instead of opening a new bug?

Sorry, what should I do?  I'm happy to (have you?) close the bug and,
if it would be helpful, I will put a comment on 88367.

Yes and no.  But my problem is gone now, thank you for the quick fix!

88367 mentioned the "Allow the document to use other fonts" box in
Preferences/Appearance/Fonts.  I tested to see if affected my problem.
Initially it was checked and my mail displayed in variable width font.
So I unchecked it, and mail was still displayed in variable width font
(perhaps significantly I did not select another message to trigger a
re-render).  Then I snorted and checked it again (and selected another
message?) and everything was hunky dory: my mail displayed in FIXED
width font and all is well.  I exited and re-launched Mozilla again
just to make sure the fix had "taken" and indeed I still have mail in
the fixed width font I expected.

Craig:
As you have reported the bug you can change its status using the options that
are found under the "Additional Comments" text area.
Also you should know that when you report a bug you don't need to add yourself
to the CC list, you will be automatically emailed about the changes made to the
bug (you can control this in the preferences of your bugzilla account)

And according to the last comments I think that the right resolution to this bug
should be to dup it againt bug 88367.
