2. check use a different LDAP server
3. you can not see whatever chosen directory server from the dropdown

Um, Yulian I told you just 'cause it is only broke on Mac OS X doesn't mean it
gets punted to me.  I made the C-SDK LDAP library work under OS X for Netscape
6.2 and it still works in the mail compose window.  If Address Book doesn't work
I assume it's not using that LDAP code or it was linked incorrectly.  On a quick
look for the latter I'm made to believe the former.  If whoever wrote the LDAP
code AB is using wants my help in making it work on OS X fine but don't just
dump the bug on me.

Only the scroll bar, up&down arrows, is displayed for the override settings. The
dropdown box might be overlapped by the text description, "use a different LDAP
server".

Steve, this bug is not regarding the LDAP CSDK not working in MacOSX (and I 
think that bug is fixed now), but it is a problem with the dropdown listbox 
widget. The only thing you can se in the widget is the up/down arrows we can't 
see the text part of it.
The dropdown list box in preferences->MailandNews->Addressing panel and the one 
in MailNewsAccount Settings->Addressing panel have the same attributes.
Setting the width on the listbox doesnot fix this problem. Is there any other 
attribute that I need to set so that I can get the text to show. Need your help.

Related problem bug 118804. Setting the width for the listbox seems to fix the 
problem on windows, mac os9 and linux but not Mac OSX.

Simon, Mike need your help with this.

i don't think it's totally a width problem. the problem is that the contents of
the dropdown are blank so the popup is narrow.

does this only happen with classic, or does it also happen with modern?

The contents of the dropdown is not blank even if no LDAP directory is added
because this dropdown has an item "None".
