If I go to http://www.garagegames.com and write a message in the forums, it is so increadibly slow. I can type a sentence and watch it come in letter by letter. The more I type, the slower it gets. At one point it was taking 2 seconds per keypress. The funny thing is, is that I don't see any slowdown typing in this textarea. If I download the garage games html, I don't see any slow down. If I download the html, then upload it to my own server, I don't see any slow down in the typing speed. I also tried saving the page with the css and images and didn't notice a slow down there either. It only seems to be slow on their server. In order to check it you're probably going to have to create a user account, then go into the forums and try to compose a new message. Build 2002030103 I'll attach the html file just in case.

The textarea is not in an iframe. Of course I do notice that on the garage games textarea the scrollbars have red arrows and in the textarea in bug 128557 the arrows turn blue. In this textarea, the scrollbar arrows are black. Would it have something to do with that?

This is also the case for Mac OSX build 2002020516. It's a real problem when working on long pages on Wikipedia. If it's a *really* big textarea (like http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/September_11,_2001_Terrorist_Attack/New_York_Times_stories&action=edit) the scrolling will take a really long time too. Though that may be OSX memory management?

Was this recently fixed ? I dont seem to see it anymore in the testcase or the site I included earlier. Reporter can you test the latest build at garagegames and tell us if its fixed, it seems to require a signup. Using Windows 2000 SP2 BUILD: 2002032003

With build 2002032103 it seems to have been fixed. Something tells me it was the patblt fix to do with the background image. http://www.hel-guild.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi also seems fixed.

Linux RC2: Typing speed is very good, although the scroll problem mentioned is still there (+ when you press enter and it starts scrolling, it doesn't update what you type till the scrolling is done.)
