Details
Could you respin the linux builds so we can get some test coverage
for the truetype code?

is freetype enabled in the daily builds?

we never explicitly turned it on for the verification builds; but it seems to be
on by default on the trunk at least:
http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/configure.in#2955
Now, the question is whether we have the freetype libraries to build against on
the branch release machine (goldie, i believe). The answer, for goldie, seems to
be yes:
[leaf@goldie ~]$ rpm -qa | grep freetype
freetype-1.3.1-5
freetype-devel-1.3.1-5
freetype-utils-1.3.1-5
brian, shouldn't this have been built, given the above information? There isn't
any extra define or configure option we should have to set, right?

<Wasn't built in to the 0.9.9 binaries... I added the libs to the trunk build
<machines early on, but we use different machines for the branch.
if the freetype libs are there then maybe everything is fine after
all. Bug I don't see anything that looks like a freetype library
in my 0.9.9 install directory.

couldn't find freetype-config anywhere on goldie (using find / -name
freetype-config -xdev -print) so i did a make install in my 2.0.4 dir and ran
ldconfig to add /usr/local/lib. going to respin.

whoops, redoing granrose's changes, since i added comments, hit the "collision"
page, hit the back button, hit reload, recommitted, and looks like i blew away
those changes anyway. =P maybe shift-reload?

my understanding is that redhat does not support the freetype2 library
so truetype support in mozilla will not be turned on in the rpm builds. Later
on when we switch to using the other font library (xfm?) the rpms will support
that.

i'll update the download page to make a note that the rpms don't have
truetype support.
