137260 - Must submit release notes to Newsforge.net

Part of the job of releasing a new Mozilla milestone must be to submit the
release notes with maybe a bit of extra introductory/explanatory bumpf at the
start to Newsforge.net, preferably at about the same time as the release notes
hit mozilla.org.

This would prevent atrocities like
http://newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=02/03/11/0328254&mode=thread happening (Find
in this page for 'Newly Reviewed').

Newsforge say the reason why they accept submissions from 'that' site is because
the site owner always submits news early. Would he really be the ideal person to
announce the release of Mozilla 1.0 to the open source community?

Seems like a reasonable idea to submit major news releases to sites like
NewsForge (and Slashdot etc.). There could be accusations of astroturfing though.

I'd volunteer to do this myself but the proxy server that I'm behind seems to
have issues with submitting NewsForge articles (and Slashdot comments): I get
the 'Invalid form key' error every time.

Marking NEW and moving to mozilla.org Miscellaneous (Tech Evangelism Authors is
for non-standards--compliance in Web authoring programs - see

All the recent NewsForge articles about new Mozilla releases have been 
submitted by either Asa or Dawn, so I'm marking this as RESOLVED FIXED (in the 
absence of a RESOLVED ONGOING resolution).
