Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.2.2 Waterfox/55.2.2 Build ID: 20171010225712 Steps to reproduce: 1: Installed Firefox 2: Launched Firefox Actual results: closed source DRM components are downloaded and enabled without asking for my consent (this is not quite okay if the browser is marketed as free software) Expected results: 2 possibilities: 1: There is an alternative build which excludes everything DRM-related; I see it should be doable since https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1038031 is solved. 2: Ask for user's consent before downloading closed source blobs for DRM.

Thank you for the link. There are no published checksums for it though — https://releases.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/57.0/SHA256SUMS doesn't have entries for EME-free builds. Also, they are not accessible from the main Firefox download web page and finding them is not easy if not knowing the link in advance. I think the EME-free version must be equally visible to users, just like the "regular" version.
Also, I checked the EME-free build, and it has the DRM setting (I suppose it has no effect, but this is confusing)
