preference option to load, or not load, images seems to be sorley missing from "preferences" in mozilla v1.0rc1. i could not find the "automatically load images" under "privacy > images" (as was the case until mozilla v0.9.9), or anywhere else. this is very distressing as i have slow modem connection.
I see under Edit\preferences\Privacy&Security/Images (with win2k build 20020508): ------------------------------------------------------------- []Do not load images []Accept Images that come from the originating server only []Accept All Images []Ask me for downloading an image ----------------------------------------------------------- What is missing ? BTW: What's your OS ?
attached is the image which shows missing "image" option. mozilla was built on freebsd/i386 -stable from ports collection w/ following options specified on command line... --disable-auto-deps --enable-chrome-format=jar --disable-cpp-exceptions --disable-cpp-rtti --enable-crypto --disable-debug --enable-default-toolkit=gtk --enable-double-buffer --enable-dtd-debug --enable-jsd --disable-ldap --disable-mailnews --enable-mathml --disable-md --disable-optimize --disable-pedantic --enable-plaintext-editor-only --enable-reorder --enable-strip --enable-svg --disable-tests --disable-xterm-updates --disable-xinerama --disable-bidi --enable-accessibility --with-system-jpeg=${LOCALBASE} --with-system-mng=${LOCALBASE} --with-system-png=${LOCALBASE} --with-pthreads --disable-extensions
found the problem by accident ... it's the "--disable-extensions" option that removes the "image" option from "privacy & security". i added "--disable-extensions" option to disable chatzilla as not specifying "--enable-extensions=default,xmlterm,irc" does not stop chatzilla to be made/installed. specifiying options (--disable-extensions=default,xmlterm,irc) results in configure error... configure: error: extensions=default, irc, xmlterm: invalid feature name ...but that's another bug.
Image Blocking is an extension -> invalid
