Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0rc1)
Gecko/20020417
BuildID: 2002041711

When reading the mail profile from a path in UNC, the body of messages is not
displayed in either the preview pane or the message window (if a message is
opened). The search function also appears not to be able to search the body.

However, the headers are all displayed, and messages can be filed/deleted/etc.
fine. A new message can be created, but once it is saved you cannot see the body.

This problem does not occur when using locally mapped network drives.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a mail profile and add some messages
2. Change the local directory to a UNC path (e.g. \\server\my disc\email)
3. Exit Mozilla and copy the mailboxes etc to the specified path
4. Load Mail - the messages should now not be visible

Actual Results: As described, Mozilla was unable to either display or process
the bodies of messages when reading over a UNC path.

Expected Results: It should have been able to display and process the message
bodies.
This appears to be casued by the same problem as in bug 110832. Resolving as
duplicate. If this is not a duplicate, reopen.

Reporter, could you please retest with a more newer version of mozilla, either
the latest milestone or a recent nightly?

Hi,

I'm seeing this bug with Thunderbird 0.6 on Windows XP. This is definitely still
broken.

Depends on: 133153
