Xerox PARC's "Popup Prism" browser has an "enhanced thumbnail
overview" in a sidebar-like area.  It shows a small version of
the entire page, and the visible area in a dotted box.

This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but has been without a comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project.
