From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.0rc3) Gecko/20020523 BuildID: 2002052309 Hi, when going to my internet banking page (click the "Start - Installierbares Applet" button once you have the Netscape 6.2.2 Java2 plugin installed; this will try to install the installable applet to your harddisk), the browser crashes greatly and throws 180+ MByte core dumps after a fresh start. If you have any address to send the dumps to ... (~ 3 MByte each bzipped) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to the above page 2. Press "Start" 3. Enjoy Actual Results: Hard crash with 180+ MByte core dumps. Expected Results: Open the homebanking interface like netscape 4.7.x does. As with Netscape 6.x, text entry fields aren't adjusted correctly. It appears that the fields are squashed vertically, and show only the upper ~50% of the entered text which makes it unreadable. Netscape 4.7.x displays the entry fields correctly. This can be seen on the same page as above when you click the "Start - Ladbares Applet" button (loadable applet).
WFM with build 2002052306 under Windows ME. Reporter, please use the latest Java plug-in.
Hi, ftp://ftp.netscape.de/pub/netscape6/english/6.2.2/unix/linux22/plugins/jre131_02.xpi is the latest Java plugin as far as I can see, and certainly the one that is downloaded automatically when needed. And this is not Windows ME but SuSE Linux 7.1 w/ kernel 2.4.18.
I tried to upload the core file but each time Bugzilla eventually comes up with a new passwerd request although I am already logged in. Mozilla uses like 80% CPU for a while, then finally the login window comes up, I enter my e-mail and password, click login, and then Bugzilla says "no file for upload selected". A Bugzilla Bug? Anyway, can/should I send you the core file (3 MB bzip2'ed) via e-mail directly?
Reporter: Can you please upgrade to JRE1.4 ?

is your java plugin linked correctly ???
Seemed WFM on Netscape 7.0 with JRE 1.4.1beta, on Redhat Linux. After clicking " Installierbare Anwendung", a popup window came up with the message attached below. No crash. (Did not see "Start" button). Then after click on "Ladbare Anwendung", the login window was loaded and displayed, and I was able to type in some text in the login fields. Reporter, could you try Netscape 7.0 (download from netscape.com) with JRE 1.4.1beta (download from java.sun.com/j2se), and see what happens? "Sehr geehrte Kundin, sehr geehrter Kunde, aus technischen Gründen steht Ihnen die "Installierbare Anwendung" zur Zeit nicht zur Verfügung. Bitte starten Sie das Internet Banking über den Link "Ladbare Anwendung". Wir bitten um Ihr Verständnis. Mit freundlichen Grüßen Ihre Kreissparkasse Ebersberg"
Current URL https://spk-sdb.izb-hb.de/KSPK_Ebersberg/ doesn't seem to have any Java applet. Reporter, is there another page that demonstrates the same behavior?
One must click the "Ladbare Anwendung" to start up the applet. WFM, using 2002092104 build, Linux 2.4.19 i686, XFree86 4.2.0, glibc-2.2.5-34, JRE 1.4.1fc

Using linux nightly 2002112908 with java 1.4.1. I can't reproduce this. The page currently has four links on it. "Installierbare Anwendung" just opens a popup window which apparently directs me to "Ladbare Anwendung". "Ladbare Anwendung" and "Macintosh Anwendung" both start an applet which exhibit no problems. "System-Check" opens another popup window. No crashes or other obvious problems. Harald, can you reproduce this problem with a current version of mozilla and java? If so,c could you provide an update on how to reproduce this? It seems the site might have been modified since you originally submitted this.
Yippppieee! With Mozilla 1.2.1 and JRE 1.4.1 the homebanking applet works just fine. Case closed.
