I am still at version 0.9.9 on my Windows 2000 laptop, and the start page says I should upgrade for security reasons. This is good, and I am glad to see the note. I question the suggested upgrade version however. The page says " Warning! Your copy of Mozilla is vulnerable to a security bug. You should upgrade to Mozilla 1.1 Alpha to fix this problem." Should we really be suggesting an alpha version? I think (without having detailed feel for the true stability of the releases) that we should suggestion the 1.0 version, with (at most) an option to 1.1 alpha "for the adventurous".
Well, since 1.1 beta is out, maybe the links should be updated to point to a BETA release instead :) Mozilla 1.0 and friends are old news (branched in April) and are pretty uninteresting. Trunk testers are more valuable than branch testers, so that's why the page is not pointing to 1.0. Also, alpha and beta don't mean that the builds are unusably unstable. They're probably more stable than 1.0 branch builds, at least the latter one. But this is of course IMHO, YMMV etc.
This patch makes the page point to 1.1 beta instead. I didn't test this but it should work. Pretty trivial stuff.
I think this was fixed, or it's a dupe of bug 160127, which seems to be a moving target.
making it current is bug 160127, but this issue isn't the same. the reporter asks that the script recommends the latest stable milestone to people using 0.9.9, rather than the latest milestone, if it's an alpha or a beta. i'm not sure it's worth fixing - 0.9.9 is ancient history by this point...

reopening - not the same issue. 170663 is the same issue as 160127, mentioned in previous comment. this bug is suggesting that the security bug bit of the script suggests an upgrade to the latest stable, rather than the latest milestone. this could be a WONTFIX, but it's not a dupe of that...

Fixed by the new code in bug 209537. If your build is >2 weeks, the text will suggest getting the newest milestone if there is a new one, or a new nightly build (with appropriate warnings about using nightlies).
