The HTML form item "TEXTAREA" is not receiving the CSS1 "background-color" attribute. In example, textarea field should have black background with grey text. Instead, it defaults to the white background.
This is probably WONTFIX because Chimera uses native Aqua widgets, which are not stylable.

It's a duplicate of http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153283#c4 and http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153699 Boris confirmed too, no style for form items in CSS2, it's in CSS3.
Stephane, both of those bugs are too general for this to be a duplicate of either.

The one issue with this is that someone can apply white text to that text area, rendering the whole field quite useless. If this bug won't be fixed, can you kludge a font color override?

I'm confused. I understand that Chimera uses Aqua widgets, but the textarea / text field elements do not use Aqua elements; they're just text areas. Also, by ignoring this Chimera breaks standards-compliance; as I mentioned in my dup (didn't find this bug when searching), Mozilla and IE both get this right. ALSO, Chimera DOES support the background-color attribute in textfields, so I don't understand why this is a WONTFIX. I would hope Chimera would at least be consistent with rendering problems.

This example demonstrates a severe flaw resulting from they lack of compatability with a css background-color. When white text is used over a white background the content can not be viewed, making the form object difficult to impossible to use.

Actually, perhaps this should be a duplicate of bug 161261.
