Details
I use Mozilla 1.0 build 2002061908. I have experienced the same problems with other Mozilla builds as well. I have the Mozilla's profile information stored in a network directory which is mapped to a local path name. For instance, H:\PREM directory contains my profile data but H:\ is actually mapped to a shared directory of another machine on the network. I am using windows networking for file and printer sharing. The problem is that the profile preferences file prefs.js gets wiped out every once in a while. It might work very well now but it might completely be wiped clean when I close mozilla and start it up again in a few minutes. This means all my email account settings etc completely disappears. This does not happen consistently - it might work for a week and then suddenly decide to act up and clear my preferences. I am getting around this problem by saving the prefs.js file and then copying it over the emptied out file every time it gets wiped clean.
