07-11 build on OS 10.1.5 1. Go to URL 2. Scroll up and down. Expected results: Page renders properly. Actual results: The java applet which scrolls horizontally repeats itself. Also, the applet shows through tabs.

Winnie, what version of MRJ? is this v1.0? This usually find in the java console window.

Yes, branch build. First line in java console log says MRJ Plugin for Mac OS X v1.0.
Summary: Applet not positioned correctly → Applet not positioned correctly and repeats itself after vertical scroll
I just checked again on mac os 10.1.5.(netscape branch build: 2002-07-23-05-1.0.0) MRJ: v1.0, since Winnie's build is kind of old (07-11), yes, the result is the same thing, so it is a bug in mac os x only. Checked on mac os 9.2.2 (netscape branch build: 2002-07-23-10-1.0.0) linux (netscape branch build: 2002-07-17-08-1.0.0) windows 2K (netscape branch build: 2002-07-22-06-1.0.0), it works fine.

This is a issue with the 2002-12-17-08 CFM trunk build when scrolling the page by the scroll bar. Tested under 10.2.3.

Confirming on today's Mach-O Mozilla build, the applet paints in the wrong location when the page is scrolled. Marking nsbeta1+. Simon, were you looking into a simiar issue with plugins painting?

One of my chimera changes fixes this, I think. It's the one to registers the scroll position listener on all presshells up to the top.

Seeing this on 1.3final, OS X 10.2.4, plugin and enabler 1.3.1 Adding self to CC. If it hasn't already been mentioned, it looks like there might be some crossover with bug 184755.
The testcase URL target doesn't appear to use the java applet anymore but from the sound of it, this bug is tracking the same issue as bug 162134, which is newer but more generalized and has some more traction. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 162134 ***
