Did you uninstall older build before installing a new?
The build you are using now is really too old to report bugs against.
(4 months old, while the recommended approach is to reproduce a bug with a build
no more than 3 days before filing a bug.)
The latest releace candidate is 1.0.1rc1 (from August 15th)

Try deleting compreg.dat in the Mozilla installation directory, see if that
helps (bug 162593)
