We were instructed in that bug to file separate reports for each mishandling of
files.

Mozilla is saving video/mpeg files as "video.mpg.mpeg" on my system.
Bug 129979 is about Mozilla adding extensions to manually typed file names. This
is about Mozilla renaming mpegs to .mpg.mpeg by default (without any user
interaction).

Bug 120327 was originally about the fact the Mozilla is tacking on extensions
based on MIME type, but turned into a bug about application/octet-stream and
text/plain. Instructions in that bug were to file separate bugs on other
misbehavior by the renaming.
Well, bug 163254 is the same as yours, and it was considered a dupe of Bug 129979.

Same with bug 163771 and bug 150129.

I'd say that it is a duplicate.

You'd be incorrect. If bug 129979 gets fixed, this bug will still remain active.
That makes it, by definition, not a duplicate.

Those other bugs are marked incorrectly and I am in the process of trying to
find out why they have been marked duplicates of bug 129979.
Alright. Bug 144334 is another one. I really don't think it is appropriate to
treat each MIME file as a special case, though... it would be hundreds of bugs.
This is clearly a case of Mozilla being a MIME zealot, adding things to
something it should leave alone.

On the other hand, some argue that duplicatability is a factor in things getting
fixed, as is popular vote.

that bug, I think. bz?
yeah, make this a dep for now; I'd rather not dup things till I know the patch
there fixes them (QA is supposed to verify that before verifying bugs, but not
like they do it...)
