Well well......I was just about to enter this bug report, and Netscape crashes
my computer like it never had before......what a **** surprise! :)
I've been using Netscape for more than a year, and have recently installed
version 4.61 over 4.05. I DO like
Netscape more than IE (can't use it either due to technical issues), but
when I look at it, I'd like to ask the
head-dude behind Netscape what they're doing, and where they think their
product is heading.
Let's look at all the **** Netscape contains / doesn't have:
*It crashes my computer about 15 times a week on an average basis
*It often causes infinitive crashes in kernel32.dll
*It _still_ doesn't have sortable bookmarks (how hard can it be?)
*No persistent cache
*No Getrigth-style downloads
*If you close Netscape and quickly start it again your pc hangs, and you
need to "ctrl+alt+del-close" the exe
*It's a nightmare trying to download updates from Netscape's site, I gave
up after 5 minutes. It's confusing, and
doesn't allow you to use other downloaders (eg: Getright)
*It takes me as much as 30 seconds to start Messenger and load a message
on a clean boot (PII, 64 RAM,
5400 RPM disc, regular amount of programs installed, nothing in start
menu)
*The offline/online thing is simply horrible, and I hate it in
comparision to the almost flawless way that 4.05
handled it. If there was a reason to dial, it tried to, if you didn't
want it to dial, it never asked again
*It constantly build that stupid "Summary file" for the folders if it has
crashed......
Oh, and this "Mozilla" stuff is confusing........
marking invalid. This is not the place to discuss netscape products.
