I have used other e-mail clients that have the capability to 'preview' the e-mail messages (pop3) on the server before downloading. Thus fighting the war of spamand unsolicited e-mail. This would be a great enhancement to Mozilla Mail. Thank You
The major disadvantage is, that you preview and thereby transfer the header plus possibly some first lines of the body. And then again transfer the header and all of the body. So you lose a lot by saving some message bodies. pi

what I would like to see happen is to preview whats on the server have it show, sender and subject, no body.. then you can decide by the sender and title if you want to 'leave, delete, or download' the e-mail. http://memecode.com/scribe.php Thats the link to the e-mail client that I have used that included a 'preview' function for pop3 clients. Thanks..

This does seem to be pretty commonly supported part of POP3, but it's not required to be implemented to be in line with the pop3 spec. Still, it would be a nice feature. I imagine this would have to be an all-or-none setting. We would need a mail/news preference "limit pop3 messages to X lines".

I believe TOP --> DEL menu option in Mozilla Mail would help repelling spams from them coming to the client's inbox.
