Click the left mouse button repeatedly down on the menu bar (eg file menu) very
quickly.   Normally the file menu should toggle open and closed on each
alternate click.   If you click fast enough though, the menu bar will lock up.
The only way to unlock it is to switch to another application, and switch back
again.
