Lee Garner: this bug has been reported in 1.3 and 1.4 builds as well. If you still are having problems with this, please see Bug 181157 and respond to the same questions I posted in that bug's 4th comment.
Scratch that, I miswrote. Please check into Bug 174128, and respond to the questions in comments #4 & #7.
Damnit, wrong again. Sorry. Bug 198547 is the one to check.
Mark: First, it now works. I reinstalled Windows XP Pro (for a plethora of other reasons) and recently installed Moz 1.3 complete. Thanks. FYI, my answers are: 1. Mail/News was installed 2. Moz was the default mail handler in Mozilla prefs. 3. As I recall, Windows had Moz as the default mail handler also. 4. Don't know about previously; now the command is "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /mailurl:%1 which seems strange since right-click->sendto->mail launches Moz. I don't know if this helped, but thanks for looking. I'm happy with Mozilla Mail now.
1) yes, installed it. 2) yes, set to default mail app 3) there is no "Set Program Access and Defaults" in Add/Remove Programs 4) there is no URL:Mailto entry 5) the protocol handler value is "false". mailto: links work great now. when it's "True", I get the infinite browser opening bug
Reporter claims WFM, but symptom appears to be a duplicate of Bug 198547.
=>WorksForMe, based on reporter's #7. Bug 198547 contains detailed discussion of this symptom. <dee@tg.com.au>, you might want to move your vote.
