Details

I upgraded from mozilla 1.1 to 1.2b using a pre-build talkback enabled build.

Before the upgrade, I had 4 personal certificates installed, which I used to
sign mails and decrypt encrypted mails, I had received.

AFTER the upgrade to 1.2b I can no longer sign an outgoing email, and I cant
read my older encrypted mails anymore.

If I go to Preferences->Privacy&Security->Certificates->Manage Certificates
select my personal certificate (only one is displayed even though I previously
had 4) - then press "view", I get the message "Could not verify this certificate
for unknown reasons". Yet the same dialog box shows, that the certificate
expires on 11-10-2003 - and all fingerprints etc. look fine.

Under Preferences->Privacy&Security->Validation I have chosen "Do not use OCSP...".

I restored my three oldest certificates from backup using the "import" feature
under certificates. I can now read my older encrypted mails again -- but I still
consider it a bug, that they were thrown out during upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2b.

The certificates, that were thrown out, were all expired.

Yet, my newest certificate - the one which is valid until Oct 2003, still
doesn't work (it cannot be validated for unknown reasons).

Perhaps this bug is two bugs ?
I suspect this is a duplicate of bug 171331.
