User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021113 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021113 Some popups (requested or not) sometimes appear without any title bar o borders, just the content of the window is displayed. For example in the go.icq.com site if the popup opens itself alone the window appears fine, but if you start it by clicking on the link the window appears without any border or title bar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to http://go.icq.com 2.open the link "If ICQ2Go! does not start - click here" Actual Results: A windowless popup appear Expected Results: Show a complete windows with borders and all that
It is Java window. I cannot confirm this on Mozilla 20021115 (Win32) with Java installed. Reporter. Do You have Java plugin installed?
I have Java installed, but it also happend to me in other sites with regular popups (I can´t remenber were)
WFM, Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021111 I get a window with expected chrome.
At home I have Netscape 7 on XP pro and some times I get the same result
Another site were I get the same chromeless window is at http://www.tecnofar.com.ar The site is in spanish but to see what I´m telling you just click in the home page any of the links below the title "Accesos" (is the panel at the right of the screen)
the icq site uses javascript:open('...','...','...titlebar=no...'); on my test the popup window always shows up with titlebar even though I allow javascript to change window chrome. I don't know why some people see the title bar and some don't, and there might be a sparate bug report for it. Anyway, per scope of this bug report ("windowless popups"), reporter's browser was in fact respecting the javascript setting --> INVALID re comment 5: I'm use QuickTime 5 to handle flash movies and I don't see chromeless window. I suspect it's a feature (or annoyance) for some versions of Flash players.

Summary: windowless popups → chromless pop-ups [javascript:open(...,...,'titlebar=no')]
I think I found the cause of the problem, and it will make you happy to know that it´s not in your code, the problem was caused by a "tab browser extension" (http://white.sakura.ne.jp/~piro/) that I have installed in my mozilla, because after I unistall it everything worked just fine. I allready noticed the author about the problem. Sorry about the bother (and sorry about my poor english too)
